This is one of the many reasons I've been out of circulation for a while. I did this as an exclusive print for a signing and it went very well.....better than I could have anticipated really. Sir Derek loved the art and that was a great relief.
Method:
Pencil drawing and coloured in photo shop.

I broke one of my own rules about not using lens flare, but I had only four hours to do this in.

Hope you like.

Great work as usual.

I wish he'd got to be The Master for more than one episode (and I guess that was only for a few minutes in total if ya count Yana as seperate). I thought he was great and I really didn't like John Simm's portrayal that came after.

Movie poster material.

I'm glad Sir Derek liked it but not really surprised, given how "over the moon" he was about being in Doctor Who in the first place....

only four hours to do this!? Thats an amazing job and would take me probably 10 hours to do! (Not to mention some years learning to draw portaits)

They were the most panicky four hours ever.
I was in Cornwall when I was asked to do the work and I had one night to do the picture in when I got back to London.

Thanks for your comments.
Much appreciated.

Incredible work. I think I wouldn't have noticed the lens flare had you not pointed it out. I'd have been too busy admiring the likeness of the portrait. Still the lightning strike is a great effect. Good call if you ask me.....
